Amanda Zimmerman - Future Employee of the Month - July 2010

The Indiana campus of Cambria-Rowe Business College sponsors a Future Employee of the Month Award each month to honor a student. The award winner is featured on a bulletin board and receives a designated parking space for the entire month. Faculty and staff nominate and choose the award winner based on criteria compiled not only by faculty and staff, but by ACTUAL employers. The characteristics employers cites as being most important are:

The July 2010 winner of the Future Employee of the Month Award at the Indiana Campus is Amanda Zimmerman. She is a Medical Office Administration major and would like to become a medical transcriptionist for either a hospital or a doctor's office. Amanda is an excellent student with an overall GPA of 3.95 and attendance percentage of 99.8%. She is also the President of the student organization called the Student Group Activities Committee and is a member of the Ambassador Club where she is a mentor for incoming students and helps out with various activities for Cambria-Rowe Business College. Congratulations Amanda!

CRBC Graduation - Johnstown Campus

The 2010 graduation ceremony for the Johnstown Campus of Cambria-Rowe Business College was held on June 18, 2010 at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center at 7:00PM. The President and CEO of Concurrent Technologies Corporation, Ed Sheehan Jr. was the guest speaker at the ceremony. Proudly graduating were 17 students who earned an Associate in Specialized Business Degree in Accounting, 6 students who earned an Associate in Specialized Business Degree in Administrative Assistant, 4 students who earned an Associate in Specialized Business Degree in Business Administration, 5 students who earned an Associate in Specialized Business Degree in Computer Support Specialist, 6 students who earned an Associate in Specialized Business Degree in Legal, 10 students who earned an Associate in Specialized Business Degree in Management, and 36 students who earned an Associate in Specialized Business Degree in Medical Office Administration.

• Make an appointment with Admissions Representative
• Take an entrance exam given by the Admissions Representative at the time of your appointment
• Pay a $15 application fee
• Compete an application at either campus or online
• Provide a copy or have the Admissions Representative obtain a copy of your High School Transcript or GED

Goodbye Indiana CRBC

Time at the Indiana Cambria-Rowe campus has come to an end for 11 of us. Together we started 18 months ago and together we are now leaving with a degree. We all experienced some sort of trial throughout our time here. We overcame the obstacles life threw at us. We became smarter, stronger, and proud of what we have become. We each are taking something unique with us.

CRBC... Fighting for Causes

CRBC campuses participate in fights for various causes. Most recently, Johnstown has been raising money for pregnancy and baby health; Indiana has been raising money for the fight against cancer.

JOHNSTOWN/MARCH OF DIMES

Johnstown participated in the March of Dimes walk on Sunday, May 2, at the Ferndale Elementary School. Shirts with CRBC on them and bracelets were sold with all proceeds going towards the March of Dimes.

INDIANA/"SCORE AGAINST CANCER"

The Indiana campus has taken on to help the fight against cancer. Through sells of candles, hanging baskets for Mother's Day, 9th Street Deli Tickets, a luncheon catered by its own CRBC students, and most recently its 3rd year in Relay for Life, SGAC members raised $1400. One student alone raised over $500!

"The Relay for Life is a fun-filled, nation-wide event involving family, friends, and co-workers in a community effort to raise funds for the fight against cancer. It represents our hope that those lost to cancer will not be forgotten; that those battling cancer will be supported; and that someday cancer will be eliminated. Most importantly, it is a celebration of hope for those who have survived cancer."

Presidential Grant Scholarship

The Presidential Grant is an exclusive grant for high-school students that was created and is given out by Cambria-Rowe Business College. The grant pays half the cost of a student's CRBC tuition.

Two awards are granted in the winter and one in the spring for both the Johnstown and Indiana campuses for any high school student planning to attend Cambria-Rowe.

Requirements for the grant:

• Completed application (can be picked up at either campus;) Winter deadline, December 31; Spring deadline, April 30
• A minimum 200 word essay describing career goals in business
• One letter of recommendation
• Updated high-school transcript, including current year's grades

Each campus has its own Presidential Grant Committee which decides the grant winners.
